Maliha

Safety Jordan Young had Alabama, UNC, Texas A&M, Clemson, NC State, Tennessee, Michigan and Florida State in his top eight teams in May. The four-star prospect from Tampa, Florida, has now narrowed the list to mark his top four schools.

According to On3, Young's Top 4 are Clemson, NC State, Michigan and Florida State, and he also set Oct. 12 as his commitment date, coinciding with his birthday.

“All four fit my style of play, they each offer opportunities off the field, and I feel like all four staffs have coaches that are great developers," Young told On3.

This summer, the 6-foot, 185-pound cornerback has had some notable campus visits, starting with Clemson’s official visit weekend on May 31, followed by trips to Florida State on June 14, NC State on June 19 and Michigan on June 21. He hasn’t planned any additional visits yet, but he might attend one or two more campuses later this month.

“My plan is to get to some games this fall to get that gameday feel," Young said. "I am evaluating the schools, looking at the pros and cons and I will go from there.”

Jordan Young is ranked as the No. 12 safety in the 2025 class, per 247Sports, which also lists him as the No. 128 overall prospect. On3 places him as the No. 13 safety in the class and the No. 129 overall prospect.

During his junior season in 2023, Young recorded 66 tackles, including two for loss, five fumble recoveries, four forced fumbles, three pass breakups, an interception and a sack, while contributing on offense with 34 passes for 812 yards and eight touchdowns. His special team contributions included a blocked punt and a blocked field goal.

Young’s athleticism extends beyond football, as he also excels in basketball and track and field, averaging 14.5 points and 3.9 assists per game as a sophomore.

Clemson leads the recruitment race for Jordan Young

Monroe High School coach Johnny Sowell thinks Jordan Young is one of the best prospects to ever play for the school and has a special talent and works hard. So, he will be a huge addition to any program.

Clemson now holds a promising position in Young's recruitment journey, as the Tigers have received three predictions this year favoring their chances, according to 247Sports analysts. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine also gives the Tigers a 24.7% chance of landing his commitment.

“The people at Clemson are great," Jordan Young told On3. "Coach Dabo Swinney has a top program at Clemson and their coaches are good people and easy to talk to.”

Clemson's 2025 class currently boasts 13 commitments. This places the program at No. 7 nationally, a huge rise from its previous No. 14 ranking. Within the ACC, the Tigers now hold the top spot, surpassing their previous No. 3 position. The class is headlined by four-star prospects like Isaiah Campbell, Ari Watford, Amare Adams, Tae Harris, Gideon Davidson and Graceson Littleton, among others.

While Clemson leads the charge with a huge chance of securing Jordan Young's commitment, NC State follows closely with an 18.1% probability, followed by Florida State at 12.4% and Michigan at 10.4%.
