2026 4-star WR O'Mari Johnson shares thoughts about the recruitment process at Jeff Lebby’s Mississippi State
O'Mari Johnson is among the most sought-after players from the class of 2026. The 6-foot receiver is a four-star recruit and is currently sitting on 11 offers from some of the best college programs in the country.
Jeff Lebby's Mississippi State is one of those 11 programs in contention to acquire the 2026 recruit.
Apart from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU, Florida State, Arkansas, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Wisconsin and Toledo are also interested. Johnson had nothing but praise for Lebby and his coaching staff as they continue to pursue him.
"It feels like home everytime I go up there. They welcome me with open arms," Johnson said, as per Rivals.com.
Johnson is ranked No. 170 nationally and is the 28th-best wide receiver in the country, as per the On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the seventh-best overall prospect from the state of Mississippi.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs have the third-best chance (10%) of acquiring the wide receiver, according to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Based on the model, they lag behind the Ole Miss Rebels (51.4%) and the LSU Tigers (28.3%).

O'Mari Johnson is among the best players in his position from the class of 2026. The athlete from Mississippi has already received multiple offers from some of the country's best college football programs, including Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs are one of the favorites to land the coveted four-star prospect. Johnson was at the college's campus for an unofficial visit in November 2023. He has yet to take an official visit to his home state program.
Mississippi State has already landed four commitments from the class of 2026. However, only one of those commitments is from a wide receiver: Kenny Darby, a three-star prospect from Louisiana.
The Bulldogs' class of 2026 is ranked No. 17 in the country, as per 247Sports. They have extended offers to 101 top prospects from the country. Landing the Wesson, Mississippi, native will definitely improve the Bulldogs' chances of cracking the top 10 in the country.
