2026 4-star WR Vance Spafford to reportedly attend Ole Miss' Week 1 showdown against Furman

Four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford from Mission Viejo High School in Tustin, California, is still early in his recruitment journey but has already attracted nationwide attention. The 2026 prospect is gradually weighing his college options, with Ole Miss emerging as a top contender.

According to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Rebels have a 39.4% chance of securing Spafford’s commitment. The program has yet to land a commitment for the 2026 cycle, making him a priority target.

Per On3 reporter Zach Berry, Spafford is set to visit Ole Miss this weekend for its season opener against Furman, which marks the first time the Rebels and Furman have met since 1902. The wide receiver has described Ole Miss as his "dream school," and this visit could play a crucial role in his recruitment.

The Rebels are coming off a historic 2023, where they posted their first 11-win season in school history. The program's potent offense, led by quarterback Jaxon Dart, running back Quinshon Judkins and wide receiver Tre Harris, is expected to secure an easy victory against Furman.

On defense, the Rebels have bolstered their lineup with key players like defensive lineman Jared Ivey and linebacker Khari Coleman. Following the Furman game, it will face Middle Tennessee, Wake Forest, Georgia Southern and Kentucky next month.

Vance Spafford's athletic profile

Vance Spafford has already received offers from multiple programs like Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, UCF, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Miami, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ole Miss and Oregon, among others.

During his sophomore year, Spafford shattered multiple season records at Mission Viejo, catching 83 passes for 1,576 yards and 22 touchdowns. At the Under Armour Future 50 event, Spafford wowed everyone with a stunning one-handed catch.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound wide receiver also posted 100-meter dash times of 11.33 and 11.47 seconds as a sophomore. This spring, he improved by clocking a blazing 10.81 seconds in his first race.

Vance Spafford is ranked by On3 as the nation's No. 244 overall prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 34 wide receiver and the No. 23 prospect in California. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 101 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 16 wide receiver and the No. 19 prospect in the state.
