3-star CG Josiah Sanders confirms commitment to Tad Boyle's Colorado Buffaloes
Colorado Prep's Josiah Sanders, a 6-4 combo guard and a three-star recruit who is No. 134 overall prospect in the nation per On3 has announced that he has committed to play for coach Tad Boyle and the Colorado Buffaloes.
Sanders also received offers from Northwestern, San Diego State, Stanford and Tennessee. However, he explained to On3 on Sunday why he chose the team from his home state.
“I chose Colorado because of their track record putting players in the NBA," Sanders said. "At the end of the day, that’s the main goal and I feel like they can develop me and push me to get me to where I want to go!”
He then said that Colorado has been investing in him for over a year and has been treating him "like family." He also gave a message for the fans and shared his excitement for the future.
“A message that I have for the Colorado fans would just be to get ready to pack the house and watch the Buffs turn up because we are going to do special things for sure!”
Before his commitment, he also visited other schools like UCLA, UC Santa Barbara and Northern Colorado.
Sanders is also ranked by On3 as the No. 7 combo guard in the country and the No. 1 player in the state of Colorado.
Josiah Sanders displayed his skills during the UAA basketball league
In August, Josiah Sanders participated in the Under Armour Next league as part of the Utah Mountain Stars.
There, he gained a lot of exposure and training and even went to Africa with his teammates for what he calls a "life-changing experience."
Sanders has said that he models his playstyle to Anthony Edwards particularly the Minnesota Timberwolves star's willingness to do "whatever it takes" to win.
