3-star PF Dezmon Briscoe gives insight into his recruitment process while naming top schools
Dezmon Briscoe, a highly regarded 6-foot-8 power forward from Indiana, has been making headlines in the 2025 recruiting class. Currently ranked as the ninth-best player in his class by 247Sports, Briscoe has attracted significant interest from top Division I programs.
He recently shared insights into his recruitment journey, revealing his final six schools: Butler, Cincinnati, DePaul, Duquesne, Iowa and Xavier. Notably, Briscoe aims to make his college decision by November. According to On3’s Top-150 Player Rankings, he is the No. 128 overall recruit, the No. 33 power forward and the No. 7 player in Indiana.
In his discussions with On3, Dezmon Briscoe elaborated on his relationships with each of the final six schools. For Butler, he praised assistant coach Mike Pegues and head coach Thad Matta, highlighting their vision to restore Butler's prominence.
“Coach P (Mike Pegues) and Coach (Thad) Matta are the home school and want me to be part of getting Butler back to where it should be,” he said.
At Cincinnati, Dezmon Briscoe developed a strong bond with assistant coach Drew Adams and head coach Wes Miller.
“Coach Drew (Adams) and HC (Wes) Miller have been recruiting me for awhile. They also have a vision for me and we have a great relationship,” Briscoe noted.
Duquesne also made a strong impression.
“Coach (Dru) Joyce and Coach Sull (Julian Sullinger) have shown me how I would fit into their program and how I can be used. They are excited about me coming in and impacting their program,” he explained.
Iowa's long-term recruitment efforts by assistant coach Sherman Dillard and head coach Fran McCaffery have not gone unnoticed.
“Coach (Sherman) Dillard and Coach Fran (McCaffery) have been recruiting me the longest and see me fitting in their system,” Briscoe mentioned.
Dezmon Briscoe discusses unofficial visits to Xavier and DePaul
Dezmon Briscoe, a standout at Crispus Attucks High in Indianapolis, has not yet taken any official visits but is scheduling them. He has, however, been on unofficial visits to Xavier and DePaul.
At Xavier, Briscoe appreciates the strategic vision laid out by assistant coach Dante Jackson and head coach Sean Miller.
“I have a great relationship with Coach (Dante) Jackson and HC (Sean) Miller. They have a plan for me,” he shared.
DePaul's coaching staff, including assistant coach Jack Owens and head coach Chris Holtmann, impressed Briscoe with their system fit.
“Coach (Jack) Owens and Coach (Chris) Holtmann have shown me how they see me fitting in their system. I have a great relationship with them!” he remarked.
Dezmon Briscoe's journey continues to be a closely watched narrative as he moves closer to his final decision.
