4-star CB Jaboree Antoine narrows down his commitment to top 2 schools amid LSU rumors
Highly sought-after 2025 prospect Jaboree Antoine is on the brink of making a pivotal decision regarding his college football future. After initially committing to LSU in January and decommitting in late June, the four-star cornerback has whittled his choices down to LSU and Miami.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 170 pounds, Antoine, a standout from Westgate High School in Louisiana, ranks as the No. 10 cornerback and the No. 154 overall player in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports. Despite offers from prestigious programs like Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State, his focus remains on the Tigers and the Hurricanes.
A deep familiarity and evolving relationship have marked Antoine’s journey with LSU. He emphasized that LSU remains a top contender due to their relentless pursuit and the strengthened bonds since his commitment.
"Since I opened back up, LSU has been coming hard. Overall, things have come more together between me and the staff. There has been good communication since I decommitted and they are recruiting me even harder. Nothing has really changed, and LSU is still a top school for me." Antoine shared with On3.
On the other hand, Miami presents a compelling case with a consistent and personal approach. Antoine noted that Miami was his first offer, and the coaching staff has maintained strong ties with him and his family ever since.
“The Hurricanes have been with me from the start, always checking in on me and my family. Their genuine relationships and honest communication have made a significant impact,” Antoine said.
As Jaboree Antoine prepares to announce his choice, he underscores the importance of player development in his decision-making process.
"My commitment will come down to player development and who I feel can make me the player I want to be," he stated.
The decision between staying close to home in Louisiana or heading to Florida is undoubtedly challenging for the Louisiana native.
Miami eyes Jaboree Antoine as crucial cornerback decision looms
Following DJ Pickett's decision to pass on Miami, the Hurricanes must swiftly focus on their next cornerback target. On July 20, New Iberia (La.) Westgate cornerback Jaboree Antoine will announce his choice among Miami, Florida State and LSU. Antoine is a consensus 4-star recruit, recognized by Rivals, ESPN, On3 and 247Sports.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, Antoine showcases a blend of athleticism and versatility. Antoine’s spontaneous play and physicality make him a prime candidate for early play at the Power 4 level. With key secondary players like Kamren Kinchens, James Williams, and Te'Cory Couch heading to the NFL, Miami’s need to reload is urgent.
Antoine's potential addition would bolster Miami’s defense, joining long, athletic cornerback Timothy Merritt from Birmingham (Ala.) Parker and Chris Ewald Jr. from Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna. This recruitment could give Miami its strongest cornerback class since 2018, a class that included four-stars Gilbert Frierson, DJ Ivey and Al Blades Jr.
