4-star IOL and Texas native Nelson McGuire confirms commitment to Mike Elko's Texas A&M

Texas A&M University has strengthened its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Nelson McGuire. He chose the Aggies after a standout visit to College Station. McGuire announced his decision on Monday.

A major reason behind his decision is the impressive development of Texas A&M's offensive line under OL coach Adam Cushing.

He chose the Aggies over several prominent programs, including Clemson, Auburn and Vanderbilt.

The 6-foot-4.5, 320-pound lineman is widely regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2025 class. On3, in particular, places McGuire even higher, evaluating him as a four-star prospect at the No. 234 overall position, No. 14 among interior offensive linemen, and No. 38 in Texas.

With McGuire's commitment, the Aggies' 2025 recruiting class now includes six offensive linemen. McGuire joins fellow four-star prospects Marcus Garcia and Jonte Newman, as well as three-star commitments Connor Carty, Tyler Thomas and Joshua Moses. Notably, all six offensive linemen are in-state recruits from Texas.

The Aggies' recruiting class continues to gain momentum, ranking No. 9 nationally and No. 7 in the SEC according to On3's Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Nelson McGuire shared his feelings on his decision

McGuire expressed his enthusiasm for joining Texas A&M in an interview with On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

“It just shows me that they will beat all the odds," McGuire said. "Everyone was betting against A&M saying they were going to lose but they are doing what they do best and dominating the whole game moving forward.
“A&M is in a great place in my opinion. I would definitely consider coming to A&M. It is an amazing coaching staff, atmosphere is crazy! Very loud, intense and unmatched! I will definitely be back for another game! Love this place!”

Coach Mike Elko and his staff have secured 22 total pledges for the 2025 cycle. It has positioned Texas A&M as a frontrunner in college football recruiting.
