He averaged 21.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.4 blocks per game during his junior year.
Chances of Shelton Henderson's final 3 schools to secure his commitment
3. Louisville
Originally, On3 gave Louisville the lowest chance to secure Henderson's commitment among his top 6 schools. However, Louisville is still in the running even after he dropped Houston, LSU and Texas Tech from contention.
Shelton Henderson revealed that he has built rapport with Cardinals coach Pat Kelsey and that he enjoyed talking to him. The Houston, Texas native added that assistant coach Ronnie Hamilton's transfer from LSU was a plus for them since Hamilton has a good relationship with him and his family.
2. Texas
Texas is a strong contender given that the school is in his home state. He previously told On3 that just the fact that the school is in Texas "is something I look at.” He already met with Texas coach Rodney Terry and complimented the school's culture and dedicated fanbase.
Before Henderson announced his final three schools, On3 listed Texas with a 2.9% chance, with Houston which he just dropped, having a higher chance of securing his commitment. However, the Longhorns made a strong impression on him and he chose the over the school in his hometown.
1. Duke
The Duke Blue Devils are still on a high after securing the commitments of Carlos and Cayden Boozer. With the team's recruitment still on overdrive, they also have the highest chance of getting Shelton Henderson's commitment, with On3 listing it at 86.6%.
Blue Devils coach Jon Scheyer reportedly told Henderson that they can already see him playing for the team. Henderson also likes their culture as well as the fan base.
With the Boozer twins already in the bag, Coach Scheyer and his staff can now focus more on other recruits, including Shelton Henderson who is also considered a top 10 defensive player by On3.
