4-star WR Malik Clark breaks down his recruitment process in detail as he makes the final pick between 3 schools
Malik Clark, a four-star wide receiver from Rock Hill, South Carolina, has become one of the most coveted recruits in the 2025 class. With offers from over a dozen top-tier programs, Clark has narrowed his choices to three prominent schools: South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida State.
“I’ve been talking a lot with my mom and brother, weighing all the pros and cons," Clark told On3. "Once I’ve thought it all through, I’ll make my decision and pray it’s the right one for me.”
Ranked as the No. 2 recruit in South Carolina, the No. 24 wide receiver nationwide, and the No. 209 prospect overall by On3 Industry, the 6-foot-2.5, 180-pound Clark has clear priorities in his college selection process.
“I’m looking for a place that feels like family, where I can develop and have a chance to compete,” he emphasized.
Malik Clark's campus visits played a significant role in his decision-making. Reflecting on his visit to Florida State, Clark said:
“Let’s be honest, they are FSU and had a great season last year. Coach Norvell is the truth.”
About South Carolina, he noted:
“USC is home, just an hour down the road from me. I love the game-day environment, and Coach Mike Furrey is a great guy and coach.”
About North Carolina, Clark added:
“UNC made it clear I’m a top priority. Coach Galloway and I have a great connection, and my family feels the same. I love the guys on the team and the new recruits like Jordan Shipp and Bryce Baker.”
Malik Clark: Shining on the field and the track as a top recruit
Malik Clark shines not only on the gridiron but also on the track. As a junior, he secured third place in the South Carolina 5A 100-meter finals, clocking in at 10.62 seconds.
Malik Clark demonstrated his speed further by winning the 5A Upper State title with an impressive 10.55-second run. Additionally, Clark's talents extend to the 200 meters, where he qualified for the state competition with remarkable times.
Dane Draper of 247Sports evaluated Clark, noting:
"While he may not be the most natural player at this stage, his combination of length at 6-foot-1 and elite speed (sub 10.6 100m) makes him an intriguing offensive weapon, especially in an FSU-like system. His traits are ideal for stretching the field vertically."
Malik Clark is, as per 247Sports, the No. 213 recruit in the nation, the No. 24 wide receiver and the No. 3 in South Carolina at the high school level of the class of 2025. The 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings have him as the No. 224 player nationally, the No. 26 wide receiver and the No. 2 prospect in South Carolina.
