5-star 2026 prospect Tyran Stokes receives a college offer from Big Ten powerhouse

The Class of 2026 has amazing talent and is getting recognized by some of the best D-1 schools. One of these talented recruits is five-star small forward Tyran Stokes, who plays for Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California.

Rutgers became the latest program to extend an offer to the five-star athlete. He shared the news on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

"Blessed to receive an offer from Rutgers University," Stokes wrote.

This was the forward's 26th offer. Other programs that have offered Stokes are Louisville, Kentucky, Alabama, Oregon, Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Auburn, Florida State, UCLA, North Carolina and Arkansas.

According to On3, the Louisville Cardinals are the early favorites to land the five-star recruit. The Pat Kelsey-led program became one of the earliest teams to extend an offer to Stokes. Tyran Stokes received confirmation from the program in Oct. 2022.

The Cardinals are yet to land any recruit from the Class of 2026, but acquiring Stokes will certainly benefit the Cardinals going forward in the recruitment process.

Tyran Stokes became the Rutgers' third five-star offer from the Class of 2026

Tyran Stokes, a five-star prospect from Louisville, Kentucky, is yet to announce his commitment despite garnering interest from programs such as Louisville, Kentucky and USC.

Rutgers is making its move early and will hope to land the five-star recruit as soon as possible. He became the program's 16th offer from the class and its third five-star offer, after point guards Brandon McCoy and Warren Keel Jr., as per 247Sports.

The Scarlet Knights have offered 16 athletes from the class and will be looking to extend more offers in the coming months. They are still early in their recruiting process, but Stokes will be thrilled to gain the faith of the program almost a year in advance.

Rutgers' Class of 2025 is ranked No. 27, per 247Sports. The program's coach, Steve Pikiell, will look to improve on that going forward, and landing Stokes will go a long way in achieving that. The five-star prospect is ranked No. 2 and is the best player at his position in his class, per On3.
