5-star guard Meleek Thomas announces visit to John Calipari's Arkansas
Several colleges have been vying for top shooting guard prospect Meleek Thomas from Overtime Elite in Atlanta, and he has announced that he will be visiting one of the schools gunning for him: Arkansas. He will also have a meeting with coach John Calipari.
The 6-foot-3 Midland, Pennsylvania, native is one of the most sought-after guards in the country, and Calipari is expected to roll out the red carpet for him. Arkansas is one of Thomas' top seven schools, though he had to reschedule several visits to LaFayette before his visit there this weekend.
Several Schools vying for Meleek Thomas Already
Arkansas is not the only school vying for the Five-Star Plus+ 2025 prospect, as several other schools also want him for their team. His top seven include Auburn, Alabama, Kansas, Kansas State, Pitt and UConn. Thomas has already visited UConn, Pitt, Auburn and Kentucky. Arkansas would be the fifth school he is visiting as he continues his search for a college to land on.
He is also scheduled to visit Kansas State on Oct. 26; his visit to Alabama, which was supposed to have happened last weekend, was canceled. However, the latter remains a top choice for the young guard.
Other schools, including Duke, St. John's, Indiana and Xavier, have also sent offers to Thomas, though these are not among his top seven choices.
247 Sports’ Composite Rankings have placed Thomas as the class of 2025's No. 7 player in the country. While he is playing for Overtime Elite, Thomas previously played for Lincoln Park in the WPIAL, winning back-to-back WPIAL and PIAA championships for the school as a junior and sophomore. He is touted as one of the best high school guards.
