5-star LB Zayden Walker shares a 3-word reaction to 4-star safety Rasean Dinkins' commitment flip to Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs
Rasean Dinkins, a 4-star safety from Warner Robins, Georgia, flipped his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs from Georgia Tech on Monday. The decision had 5-star linebacker Zayden Walker excited, as he shared the news on his Instagram story.
Walker, a Georgia native himself, announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on June 5.
"we so lit," read the caption on the story.
Walker chose Georgia over other top programs such as South Carolina, Miami, Florida State and Alabama, whereas Dinkins selected the Bulldogs over Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Auburn. He initially committed to the Yellow Jackets in June before turning to Kirby Smart's team now.
Zayden Walker is ranked No. 28 in the country and is the best linebacker in the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is also the fourth-best overall prospect in the state of Georgia.
Rasean Dinkins, on the other hand, is the 346th-overall recruit in the nation and the 33rd-best player at his position, according to On3. He is also the 47th-best prospect from the state of Georgia.
Rasean Dinkins had high praise for Georgia coach Kirby Smart
Rasean Dinkins became the Bulldogs' 24th overall commit from the Class of 2025 and their 14th 4-star prospect.
Dinkins' decision was influenced by his relationship with Smart, as he spoke about it after visiting them for their game against Mississippi State on October 13. According to On3, Florida State also had a slender chance of landing the 4-star prospect.
"The bond I have with [Smart] is like I have with no other coach," Dinkins said, as per UGASports.com. "There’s not too many coaches in college football that make time to talk to any players before the game because they’re usually too locked in on the game. He’s locked in on the game and making time to talk to the players, so that means a lot to me."
The Bulldogs have acquired three 5-star recruits, Elijah Griffin, Isaiah Gibson and Zayden Walker, who are all Georgia-based. Their class is currently ranked No. 3 in the country, as per 247Sports, only behind the Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes.
