5-star Ohio State signee shares his shock at UNC's $30 million offer to 8x Super Bowl winner Bill Belichick

Ohio State signee Devin Sanchez, a five-star cornerback from Houston, Texas, has shocked many with his amazing talent. However, the latest news involving legendary former NFL coach, Bill Belichick has left the talented defenseman speechless.

Belichick stepped down from his role with the New England Patriots after the 2023 season ended. Since then, the eight-time Super Bowl champion has been looking for a way back to the sidelines. Subsequently, after maintaining a conversation with the University of North Carolina this past week, the program offered him $30 million for three years on Wednesday.

On3 shared the news, which generated a response of utter disbelief from the Ohio State cornerback. Sanchez shared the news on his Instagram story and displayed his shock:

The five-star prospect signed with the Buckeyes on National Signing Day after choosing them over schools such as Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas and LSU. He is ranked No. 7 in the country and is the No. 1 cornerback in the Class of 2025, according to On3. He is also the third-best overall recruit from Texas.

Devin Sanchez stuck to his commitment to Ohio State

Devin Sanchez, Ohio State's second-best signing from the Class of 2025, was one of the program's most committed athletes. He pledged his allegiance to Ryan Day's Buckeyes in January and stuck to it for almost a year.

He spoke about his hard commitment in a May interview with Lettermen Row during On3's Elite Series:

"I’m very locked in [and] I think they should put very hard commitment next to my name, because I’m not gonna be flipped in no time soon. I think I’m probably one of the top guys that people don’t have to worry about flipping."

Devin Sanchez is one of the Buckeyes' two five-star signings in the Class of 2025, the other being the No. 3-ranked quarterback, Tavien St. Clair. The Buckeyes' other notable signings include four-star recruits Carter Lowe, Faheem Delane, Quincy Porter and Riley Pettijohn.

The Buckeyes signed a total of 26 athletes this year and came out of the early signing period with the 5th-best class in the country, as per 247Sports.
