5-star WR Jaime Ffrench boils down his options to three schools ahead of commitment date ft. Texas
Jaime Ffrench, one of the most coveted wide receivers in the 2025 recruiting class, has zeroed in on his top three college choices. The standout 6-foot-2, 185-pound receiver from Jacksonville, Florida, is deciding between the Texas Longhorns, Miami Hurricanes and LSU Tigers, with a commitment announcement scheduled for Aug. 30.
He is rated as the fourth-best wide receiver and the third-best player in Florida by 247Sports. Remarkably, the Longhorns have found a lot of success in showing interest in him since Ffrench's remarkable senior season opener, where he caught four passes for 116 yards in a winning game.
The On3 Industry has ranked Jaime Ffrench as the nation’s No. 3 wide receiver and No. 18 overall prospect. His track performance further highlights his athleticism, clocking an impressive 100-meter sprint in 11.67 seconds. During his sophomore season, Ffrench showcased his potential with 44 catches for 671 yards and five touchdowns, solidifying his status as a top-tier prospect.
In a recent conversation with On3's Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons, Ffrench revealed his current school rankings:
"Texas is No. 1. LSU is No. 2. Miami is No. 3."
Texas Longhorns eye Jaime Ffrench, Kaliq Lockett throws a hint
The Texas Longhorns have strengthened their 2025 recruiting class by adding five-star safety Jonah Williams. Following this commitment, Kaliq Lockett hinted on X that Texas may not be finished yet, posting:
"And guess what… WE STILL NOT DONE."
This statement has fueled speculation that Texas could soon secure five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench. On3's recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong believes Texas has a strong chance to land Ffrench.
"There was a time when I was keeping a close eye on LSU and particularly Miami, but the word is the Burnt Orange is still in great shape to close Ffrench," Wiltfong noted.
Jaime Ffrench emphasized that coach Steve Sarkisian's offensive reputation and expertise in developing wide receivers are significant factors in Texas' favor.
"The relationship with Sarkisian and his track record of offense and receiver development is one factor. The Manning factor is a strong element down the stretch," Ffrench said.
Despite missing out on other five-star recruits like Dakorien Moore, who chose Oregon, and Michael Fasusi, who committed to Oklahoma, Texas remains optimistic.
Currently ranked as the No. 18 overall recruit and the No. 4 wide receiver in the 2025 class, Ffrench could soon join Texas’ recruiting class. As the 20th overall recruit and the fifth-rated wide receiver, Lockett is Texas' highest-rated commitment thus far.
