After taking official visits to Washington, Notre Dame and Texas, 4-star LB Madden Faraimo will “wait on the decision”

Four-star linebacker Madden Faraimo is one of the most promising players in the 2025 class. Originally from San Diego, the blue-chip prospect made a move to JSerra High School in Orange County, California, for his junior season.

Faraimo took official visits to Washington, Notre Dame and Texas while also making an unofficial visit to USC two months ago. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound LB initially planned to announce his commitment in early July, but he now revealed to On3's Chad Simmons that he is taking his time with the decision.

“I’m going to wait on the decision. I am not sure when I will commit. I was supposed to but wasn’t ready,” Madden Faraimo said.

The prospect will now look to make visits this fall before announcing his pledge.

“The plan is to take in a few games this season and get back on campus one more time if my schedule allows it," Faraimo said.

Faraimo's football journey began as a safety, but he has since grown into a formidable linebacker. He is ranked as the No. 121 overall prospect, the No. 12 linebacker in the 2025 class and the No. 8 player in California by On3. He also earned recognition as a two-time all-state underclass selection.

Madden Faraimo's sister, Megan Faraimo, was the No. 1 softball recruit in the class of 2018. She was a four-time All-American pitcher at UCLA from 2019 to 2023.

Which program has the most potential to earn Madden Faraimo's commitment?

Notre Dame has been successful in attracting top-tier talent from California's Polynesian community to its football program. A prime example is Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, and now it seems the team could secure another California native, Madden Faraimo.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Fighting Irish Dame currently holds a 96.1% chance of landing Faraimo’s commitment. Besides that, three 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions favor the program as his future home.

Notre Dame received Faraimo’s second official visit in June, during which he explored whether he would feel comfortable so far from home.

“I think the biggest thing for me about Notre Dame was feeling comfortable in that atmosphere and being so far from home,” Faraimo told Irish Sports Daily. “I just wanted to find out if I'd be comfortable out there and then spend time with the players, get to know what the culture's like and how the coaches are behind the scenes.”

Notre Dame's strong academic reputation also played a big role in Madden Faraimo's decision-making process.

“With Notre Dame, that degree is hard to beat," Faraimo told On3. "It is hard to compare that to another school. That was big for me to see on the visit. Then Notre Dame is a faith-based school and I am big on faith. Those things make Notre Dame different me."

The Fighting Irish have 22 players committed to the 2025 class, ranking No. 11 in the nation. The class has already earned commitments from three-star linebackers Anthony Sacca and Ko'o Kia.
