Aidan Anding commitment rumors: Where could 2025 class CB land?
Three-star cornerback Aidan Anding, from Ruston High School in Los Angeles, is one of the most sought-after recruits in the class of 2024. He is set to announce his college commitment on Aug. 24 and has narrowed down his options to three programs: Arkansas, LSU and Texas.
Anding unofficially visited the Longhorns on April 6 before making an official visit on June 21. The 6-foot, 170-pound CB also officially visited the Razorbacks on June 14.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, LSU is the leader in Anding's recruitment process, with a 74.3% chance of earning his commitment. Texas remains in the mix with a 22.7% chance, while Arkansas is a distant third with just a 1.0% chance.
Anding played a crucial role as a key defensive playmaker for Ruston’s Louisiana Division I Non-Select state championship-winning team last year. He also excels in basketball and track and field. As a junior, the prospect earned first-team honors in Louisiana District 2-5A basketball and was a state qualifier in the long jump during his sophomore year.
Aidan Anding commitment: What it would mean for LSU's 2025 class
LSU offered Aidan Anding a spot in its 2025 class on June 28, shortly after his official visits. The program's connections to the Ruston High School community in Louisiana played a big role in the pursuit of the highly-touted cornerback.
The 2025 recruiting class for LSU is shaping up to be one of the most nationally competitive groups the program has seen in recent years. It has managed to lock in six of Louisiana's top 10 recruits. The Tigers already boast commitments from five-star cornerback DJ Pickett and four-star Kade Phillips, who recently flipped his commitment from Texas to LSU.
Anding's potential commitment will give LSU's 2025 class another big boost in the cornerback room. The cycle already ranks No. 3 in the nation and No. 2 in the SEC. It also features blue-chip prospects like Bryce Underwood, Harlem Berry, Derek Meadows and Damien Shanklin.
Aidan Anding is ranked by On3 as the nation's No. 31 cornerback in the 2025 class and the No. 12 recruit in the state of Los Angeles. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 38 cornerback in the class and the No. 13 recruit in the state.
