Alabama commit Michael Carroll confirms receiving offer from Miami Hurricanes to the Class of 2025
Four-star interior lineman Michael Carroll remains hot in the recruitment race, despite his commitment to Alabama. Penn State was the first to offer him after his Alabama pledge, but the Nittany Lions were soon joined by Michigan in the race for his signature.
On Saturday, Miami also entered the head-to-head by offering Carroll for the Hurricanes' 2025 class. Coach Mario Cristobal personally extended the scholarship to the prospect, and he shared the news on X, writing:
"After an amazing conversation with @coach_cristobal I am Extremely blessed to Officially be offered a scholarship to the University Miami!! #GoCanes."
Miami has 21 players committed to its 2025 class, ranking No. 12 in the nation. The class includes interior offensive linemen like four-star SJ Alofaituli and Max Buchanan, as well as three-star Takaylen Muex.
Besides these three schools, Michael Carroll also received offers from Texas, Georgia, Rutgers, Michigan State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, USC and Florida, among others.
Michael Carroll's recruitment update
Michael Carroll committed to Alabama's 2025 class on June 10, three days after his official visit to the Crimson Tide. As of now, he appears to be a "hard commit" to the program. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Alabama holds a strong 72.1% chance of retaining Carroll's commitment.
Besides coach Kalen DeBoer, offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic and director of sports performance Dave Ballou earned heavy praise from him.
“Coach Kap, I love him," Carroll told On3. "The head coach, Coach DeBoer, he seems like a great person. He’s always staying consistent, talking with my parents, all of that. And then the strength coaches there. Coach Dave Ballou, he trained Quinton Nelson at Notre Dame and a bunch of other studs.”
The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Carroll’s athletic pedigree is worth mentioning, as he hails from a family with a rich sports background. His father, Michael Carroll Sr., played football for Penn State, while his mother, Letitia Carroll, was a Hall of Fame basketball player at Michigan State.
Michael Carroll himself is a top prospect in the nation, as he is ranked by On3 as the No. 12 overall prospect, the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class and the No. 2 recruit in Florida. 247Sports places him as the nation's No. 112 overall prospect, the No. 6 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 3 recruit in the state. He competes in wrestling as well.
