Auburn four-star TE target commits to Mike Elko's Texas A&M in the Class of 2026
Four-star tight end Xavier Tiller from Langston Hughes High School in Georgia committed to Texas A&M's 2026 class on Monday. He gave his pledge less than a month after attending the Aggies’ Oct. 26 game against LSU, where he watched them secure a phenomenal 38-23 victory.
Speaking with On3's Chad Simmons in September, Tiller revealed his priority in any program, saying:
“I want to play in an offense that uses tight ends and I want to have great relationships with the coaches I play for."
Mike Elko's program certainly felt right for Tiller in this regard. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound prospect held offers from 13 of the 16 Southeastern Conference schools, including Ohio State, Penn State and USC, among others. He is the No. 4 tight end in the 2026 class, the No. 10 player in Georgia and the No. 87 overall prospect in the nation.
While Texas A&M celebrates Tiller’s commitment, his decision is a significant setback for Auburn, which had been actively recruiting him and appeared to have a strong chance of landing him. Hugh Freeze's program had hosted him four times this year, with his most recent visit on Sept. 7 when the Tigers lost a close game to California (21-14).
At the time of Tiller's commitment, Auburn was trending for his pledge with a 43.1% chance, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Tigers have five committed players in the 2026 class, ranking No. 8 in the nation and No. 4 in the SEC.
Texas A&M 2026 class update following Xavier Tiller's commitment
The tight end position is central to offensive coordinator Collin Klein's strategy, and the addition of Xavier Tiller to the Aggies' 2026 recruiting class aligns perfectly with the vision Klein and his staff have for a dynamic offense. With Tiller's commitment, Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class has risen to the No. 2 ranking nationally and No. 1 in the SEC.
Since their win over LSU last month, the Aggies have added four four-star prospects, including edge rusher Jordan Carter, linebacker Samu Moala, wide receiver Aaron Gregory and now Tiller.
Other top prospects in the class include four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga and four-star defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin. Texas A&M has also boosted its secondary with local commitments from cornerback Ryan Gilbert and safety Markel Ford.
