"Bama is cooked": Football fans react as 5-star OT Ty Haywood announces his decommitment from Kalen DeBoer's Alabama

Ty Haywood, a five-star offensive tackle from the Class of 2025, pledged his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide in July last year. However, On3 reported on Monday that the athlete decommitted from the program and will look at other options.

He took an official visit to the program in May and spent most of his time with the Crimson Tide's offensive line coach, Chris Kapilovic. Despite his commitment to the Tuscaloosa-based side, the five-star offensive lineman kept his options open.

Haywood's decommitment has opened the doors for other schools to swoop in and Michigan Wolverines are in line to land the talented five-star recruit. The Sherrone Moore-led program has a 12.8% chance of landing the Haywood, according to On3.

Haywood's decommitment created a lot of buzz on social media. CFB fans quickly shared their opinions on the latest development and called out the program for failing to hold on to the five-star prospect.

"Bama is cooked," one fan said.
"Nobody wants to play for Kalen," another fan wrote.
"This would have never happened before. The SEC is cooked," another fan commented.

A few fans hope their favorite team signs the talented lineman.

"See you in Norman," one fan wrote.
"Welcome to Texas," another fan said.
"Michigan," another fan commented.

Haywood is ranked No. 22 and is the 5th-best player at his position, per On3. He is also the seventh-best overall prospect from Texas.

247Sports analyst Gabe Brooks called Ty Haywood an "imposing offensive tackle"

Ty Haywood will now look at other programs such as Michigan, Texas A&M, Florida State and Oklahoma.

247Sports analyst Gabe Brooks gave his verdict on the talented five-star prospect and called him an "imposing offensive tackle" in his analysis.

"Imposing offensive tackle with impressive length relative to height," Brooks said, as per 247Sports. "Long-armed with a huge reach."

The Crimson Tide's Class of 2025 is still ranked No. 3, according to On3. They still have players such as Keelon Russell and Michael Carroll, but losing Ty Haywood will sour the mood in Tuscaloosa.
