Dan Lanning's Oregon lands commitment from 4-star OT Kodi Greene to the class of 2026: Reports

Four-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene from Mater Dei High School in California has announced his commitment to the 2026 recruiting class. He received more than one dozen offers but narrowed it down to a final four of Michigan, USC, Washington and Oregon before reportedly giving his pledge to the Ducks.

Greene's brother, Kayden, is an incoming freshman safety for the Washington Huskies, but coach Dan Lanning's Oregon was the only program trending heavily to earn his pledge. Last week, 247Sports analyst Brandon Huffman predicted Greene would choose the Ducks.

Even On3’s Steve Wiltfong predicted the same outcome, and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gave the Ducks a 99.2% chance to secure his commitment.

On Monday, On3's Chad Simmons reported that Greene had committed to play in Eugene.

Kodi Greene is set to attend his first game at Autzen Stadium this fall after transferring from Eastside Catholic High School to Mater Dei.

247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins compared Greene to Oregon's current offensive lineman, Josh Conerly Jr. Biggins lauded his rare combination of physicality in the run game and expects the 6-foot-6, 290-pound prospect to be a multi-year starter at the college level.

Kodi Greene is the fourth overall commit and the third offensive commit to Oregon's 2026 class, joining quarterback Jonas Williams and running back Tradarian Ball. The Ducks’ 2026 recruiting class ranks No. 1 in the nation and includes other top-tier prospects like defensive lineman Tony Cumberland.

Why did Kodi Greene commit to Oregon?

Kodi Greene has been highly impressed with Oregon since it first offered him in November of last year. He made his first trip to Eugene on Feb. 3 for a Junior Day, but it was his return visit two weeks ago for the school's "Saturday Night Live" camp that helped him make up his mind.

"Oregon felt like home for me every time I was there," Greene told 247Sports. "My heart kept telling me this was the place for me and there was a very special feeling there."

A big factor in the player's decision was Oregon's strong focus on the offensive line. With five dedicated offensive line coaches, he felt confident in the development and support he would receive at the program. His bond with coach Lanning and offensive line coach A’lique Terry also played a crucial role in his commitment.

“My connection with coach Dan Lanning and coach A’lique Terry was one of the keys to my decision," Greene told On3. "Who they are, the energy they have and how they have recruited me stood out to me.

Kodi Greene is ranked as the nation's No. 4 offensive tackle, the No. 28 overall prospect in the 2026 class and the No. 3 recruit in California, according to 247Sports. On3 places him as the No. 7 offensive tackle in the nation, the No. 79 overall prospect in the class and the No. 10 recruit in the state.
