Elbert County's AJ Brown is a finalist for Player of the Week honor: REPORT
Blue Devils' AJ Brown has made it to the final stage of the Player of the Week honor and nobody could have been more pleased than his high school, Elbert County.
On Sunday, the Elbert County High School Boys Basketball team shared a post on X, congratulating Anthony Brown for being a finalist for the Player of the Week.
"Congrats to @AJBrown_10 for being a finalist for Player of the Week by @PrepHoops & @DrDishBball! The only GA player in the running, and just 133 votes behind 1st!
"AJ had 33 pts, 10 rebs, 6 stls, 5 asts, and 1 blk vs Oglethorpe County," the post read.
Elbert County's Blue Devils stand at 1-5 in the A D1 Region B, along with 301st rank in Georgia. It maintains an overall streak of 7-11 for the 2024-25 season. However, in the last five games played, the Blue Devils have won just one. Their last victory was against the Oglethorpe County Patriots, 73-57.
In that particular game, AJ Brown smashed a career high double-double of 33 points, 10 rebounds, six steals, five assists and one block. For this stellar performance, Brown is in the race to win the Player of the Week award by PrepHoops and DrDishBball.
The team's last game was played on Sunday against Warren County, who won 77-62. The next game is scheduled for Jan. 21 against Rabun County at 7:30 PM.
The Blue Devils are led by coach Ed Geth, an NCAA champion who boasts of expertise spanning over 20 years. He says coaching and mentoring students is more than his job; it's his calling.

AJ Brown is a Class of 2026 prospect and is ranked 34th in Georgia. In his sophomore year, the six-foot hooper played in 28 games, averaging 5.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks.
Moving on to his junior year, up until now, he has dribbled in 16 games with an average of 17.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.7 blocks.
In addition to that, in June 2024, Brown received MVP at Georgia Athletics' UGA Basketball Camp 2024.
