Five-star Alabama commit Dijon Lee makes impressive start to senior season in high school
Alabama's five-star cornerback commit Dijon Lee has quickly emerged as a top performer at Mission Viejo High School in California. He chose the Crimson Tide over a host of programs, including Texas, Georgia, Texas A&M and Washington. He is already proving why he is one of the most highly regarded defensive recruits in the 2024 class.
In his first three games of the 2024 season, Lee recorded 18 tackles, with nine solo stops and nine assisted tackles. He has also been a ball hawk by grabbing three interceptions, including one pick-six, while also contributing on offense with two receptions for 73 yards.
Lee’s performance this season mirrors the brilliance he displayed during his junior year, when he helped lead Mission Viejo to a CIF Division 1-AA football championship in 2023. In that championship season, he tallied 55 tackles, along with two interceptions and 13 pass breakups.
Alabama identified Lee as a key target early in the recruitment process, as he was one of the first offers made by new Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer.
DeBoer's persistence paid off when the prospect committed to the Crimson Tide in June, making him the first five-star recruit of the DeBoer era in Tuscaloosa.
“I just want to play football for the best program, and in recent years Bama has been the best program," Lee told SI following his commitment. "I just feel like that's the best opportunity for me and just great relationships with the coaches all over."
Dijon Lee's athletic profile
Originally a linebacker, Dijon Lee shifted to cornerback at the age of 10 after slimming down. With a 6-foot-4, 187-pound body frame, his physicality and caliber make him an elite presence in the secondary.
He excels in press coverage, and is equally effective in run support, according to Greg Biggins, a national recruiting analyst for 247Sports.
Lee is ranked by On3 as the No. 50 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 6 cornerback in the 2025 class and the No. 3 recruit in California. Rivals places him as the nation's No. 27 overall prospect, the No. 3 cornerback in the class and the No. 2 recruit in the state.
Beyond football, Dijon Lee also shines on the track, where he won a league championship in the triple jump.
