Five-star Georgia Bulldogs DL target Justus Terry shuts down recruitment

Maliha

Five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry initially committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, later flipped to the USC Trojans, but eventually reopened his recruitment this past summer.

With the early national signing day window beginning on Dec. 4 and closing on Dec. 6, Terry’s decision has heightened anticipation among fans. He has now given an update on his recruitment in a post on X, writing:

"My recruitment is now SHUT DOWN! I will be making my decision on Friday, Dec 6th!🙏🏾"

Despite Terry's recruitment taking several twists, Georgia remains the presumed leader. Kirby Smart’s recent success, including a 10-2 season, makes Athens an attractive destination for an elite talent like him.

The Bulldogs hold all five crystal ball predictions on 247Sports to secure the signature of the standout from Manchester High School in Manchester, Georgia.

"I think it is going to come down to where I am most comfortable at and you know I feel comfortable at a lot of places,” Terry told Dawgnation. “Not just Georgia. Georgia. Texas. Alabama. Florida State. I feel at home at a lot of places. It will really come down to where I am comfortable at, who I want to grind with and who I want to play with."

None of the predictions from any outlets in Georgia's favor have been flipped. However, Auburn has emerged as a potential dark horse following his game-day visit last month. Texas is also heavily pursuing him, according to Sports Illustrated.

Justus Terry has a close relationship with one of the Georgia Bulldogs commit

Justus Terry is one of the best players in the country, coming in as the No. 9 overall player, the No. 2 defensive lineman in the 2025 class and the No. 3 player in Georgia, according to the On3. His commitment would boost the Georgia Bulldogs' 2025 class, which ranks No. 2 in the nation.

One key factor that could sway Terry’s decision is his relationship with fellow five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin, who committed to Georgia on Oct. 18.

"You know me and E it is all jokes," Terry told Dawg Nation about his relationship with Griffin. "We are just going to keep poking at each other for sure. Hopefully, we end up on the same field playing together. But hey, it is whatever God takes me. I’m just walking the walk.”

If Justus Terry commits to Georgia, his combination with Griffin will be a thing to watch in the next season. The Bulldogs also have three-star defensive lineman Jayden-Jamal Hanne committed to the 2025 class.
