Five-star Oregon CB signee Na'eem Offord reacts to five-star Ohio State commit Chris Henry Jr.'s upcoming Ducks visit

Five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. is set to visit Oregon on Saturday, according to On3’s Chad Simmons. The standout 2026 class prospect from Mater Dei High School (California) has been committed to Ohio State since July 2023, but Dan Lanning and his coaching staff are leaving no stone unturned to flip him from his early commitment.

Henry’s visit has caught the eye of five-star cornerback Na'eem Offord, who switched his commitment from Ohio State to Oregon last month.

"😏," Offord posted in response to the news of Henry’s upcoming visit to Oregon.

Offord had been committed to Ohio State since February but made the move to Oregon on National Signing Day, Dec. 4.

“You have to know what fits you outside of football, and I feel like Oregon fits me,” Offord told AL about his flip. “It’s my decision at the end of the day. Everyone has their own opinions. I really don’t worry about how they feel because it’s my future. I control my future.”

Offord may now play a key role in helping to recruit Henry to follow in his footsteps. If Henry joins Oregon, it would be a major addition to the Ducks’ 2026 class, which is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation with 10 committed players.

Chris Henry Jr. is the son of the late NFL star Chris Henry. T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Henry Sr.’s former teammate, has said Henry Jr. would start at any college in the country. The junior prospect has also built a strong friendship with Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins and has been developing himself under Higgins' mentorship.

Chris Henry Jr. seems a hard commit to Ohio State

Chris Henry Jr.'s upcoming visit to Oregon has raised questions about his commitment to Ohio State, but the Buckeyes are seemingly still in a strong position for now.

“This team has showed me that they’re resilient,” Henry told SI about Ohio State. “You know, the ability to persevere even though they went through those couple losses, they came back harder. They showed me that they’re the team I want to be with.”

Ohio State’s major advantage in Henry’s recruitment now lies in its championship success. The No. 8 Buckeyes defeated No. 7 Notre Dame 34-23 to win the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff on Monday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, claiming their first national title in over a decade.

Following the win, Henry also praised Ryan Day in an X post:

"@ryandaytime best coach in the nation!!💯"

Ohio State is also expected to remain at the top in the 2025 season, with Texas and Oregon closely following. With this momentum, recruits like Henry are unlikely to consider flipping to another program.
