Five-star WR Ethan Feaster locks in three high-profile game-day visits
Ethan Feaster is the first-ever freshman to earn five-star honors in Dave Campbell's Texas Football (DCTF) prospect rankings. Despite being only a sophomore, the DeSoto High School standout has already received offers from nearly 50 colleges, including numerous SEC programs.
Feaster's recruitment journey is heating up as he has decided on a series of gameday visits to help determine his early suitors. According to Marshall Levenson of Rivals, Feaster has three key visits lined up.
On Oct. 19, Feaster will visit Texas for the Longhorns’ matchup against Georgia. A week later, on Oct. 26, he will be at Texas A&M to watch the Aggies take on LSU, and he will conclude this stretch of visits on Nov. 2, attending Nebraska’s game against UCLA.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect has already announced his top 18 schools, which feature TCU, Baylor, LSU, Oregon, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Michigan, SMU, Texas A&M, Colorado, USC, Penn State, Texas Tech, Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Nebraska.
Ethan Feaster attended the Rivals Five-Star event this summer, and his performance, along with some of the top senior and junior prospects in the nation, caught the attention of college programs. He is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 8 prospect in the nation, the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2027 class and also the top recruit in Texas.
Ethan Feaster visited LSU last month
Ethan Feaster made his way to Baton Rouge on Sep. 28 when the Tigers secured a 42-10 win against South Alabama. He previously visited Brian Kelly's program over the summer and has been developing a strong relationship with the school's co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, Cortez Hankton.
“I like the offensive scheme and coach Hankton. I love coach Hankton. The type of receiver that he produces is the type of receiver that I believe I am," Feaster said to On3.
The prospect specifically referenced Hankton's time at Georgia, where he coached Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens during his college football career with the Bulldogs. Feaster believes that Hankton's strategy aligns with his potential.
"I love to block. I’m not scared to be physical and I feel like I’m a deep threat. That’s one thing that coach Hankton is big on, deep threat receivers. That’s one reason why LSU is really high for me,” Feaster said.
The 2027 recruiting class begins to take shape, and LSU has yet to secure any commitments, with Ethan Feaster being one of the most promising prospects. Alongside him, the Tigers are also targeting wide receiver Julius Jones, quarterback Trae Taylor, interior offensive lineman Albert Simien, cornerback Larry Moon III and quarterback Peyton Houston for this cycle.
