"Following their dads legacy!!": Hoops fans react to the Boozer Twins' commitment to father Carlos Boozer's alma mater

After months of speculation, the Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, announced Friday they have chosen Duke University as the school they will be playing for in 2025. The announcement came a day after their original decision date, which was scheduled for Thursday.

The twins, who are sons of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, posted a video announcement regarding their decision, which was shared by The Players Tribune. It revealed that both of them have chosen to become Blue Devils, much like their father.

Fans immediately reacted to the big announcement, with many praising the decision and pointing out Carlos Boozer's legacy at Duke. The elder Boozer won an NCAA national championship with the Blue Devils before he went to the NBA.

Other fans pointed out that this was the right decision for the brothers, whose other choice was Miami. Both Duke and Miami have some history with Cayden and Cameron, with the twins training in Miami when they were younger, while Duke was about continuing their father's legacy there.

Boozer Twins, Cameron and Cayden, were inseparable even in high school

Cameron and Cayden Boozer are two of the most sought-after high school players for the Class of 2025, and from their decision to commit to Duke, they are sticking together in college as they have been doing their entire lives.

Cameron is the No. 2-ranked overall player in the country, while his brother, Cayden, is No. 17 overall. They have suited up together for most of their lives, playing on the same team at Miami's Christopher Colombus High School, winning three straight Florida state championships.

The Boozer twins also played together for their AAU program, Nightrydas Elite. Together, they won the Peach Jam championships, considered the biggest event of the summer for youth basketball, at the 15U, 16U and 17U levels. In doing so, they became the first team to ever sweep all three years of the competition.

They were also inseparable when playing for their country, as they each won two gold medals at the international level as part of USA Basketball. They first won the FIBA U16 Americas tournament, which allowed them to qualify for the FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey, which they won earlier this year.
