Chris Henry Jr. shed light on his decision to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes back in 2023
Ohio State extended an offer to wide receiver, Chris Henry, Jr. back in June 2022. He waited for a year and chose the Buckeyes in July 2023. Henry made the decision very early in his recruiting process and has yet to deviate from his commitment.
Henry told ESPN after announcing his commitment:
"I just felt like I was ready. I was just tired of waiting. I already knew where I wanted to go. So when I went back there, it just already felt like home and I already felt like this is where I wanted to be."
Henry also spoke to ESPN about the Buckeyes' head coach, Ryan Day and wide receivers coach, Brian Hartline after his commitment:
"They're just letting me know that I'm their priority guy. Every time I go up there, every time we speak, they're just letting me know that I'm their guy, that they wanted me bad."
He is the son of former Cincinnati Bengals' wide receiver, Chris Henry, who suffered a tragic death in 2009 after falling off from the back of a pickup truck. Henry, Jr. has since been adopted by former NFL cornerback, Adam Jones, who is helping to guide the young player through the recruiting process.
