Four-star EDGE commit Jaquavious Dodd set for a gameday visit to Shane Beamer's South Carolina for the Ole Miss game
Four-star edge rusher Jaquavious Dodd has remained committed to South Carolina's 2025 class since June. When Dodd gave his pledge to coach Shane Beamer's program, he called the decision a "dream come true" moment, and he is now ready for a gameday visit to his future school.
Dodd will be heading to Williams-Brice Stadium for the Gamecocks (3-1) vs. No. 12 Ole Miss (4-1) matchup this Saturday. On Monday, he announced the news on X, tagging several fellow South Carolina commits, including wide receiver Lex Cyrus, quarterback Cutter Woods and fellow edge rusher Anthony Addison.
"Who coming 🏠 HOME this weekend for the game? You know I'll be there! 🤙🏿🐔, " Dodd wrote. "@GamecockFB @TaeshawnAlston @lexcyrus8 @ShedSarratt_ @Jaydensellers17 @WoodsCutter @DAnthonyAddison @CoachSBeamer @CoachSterlLuc @B_MiddletonSC @DarrenUscher."
South Carolina enters this game coming off an open week after starting the season 3-1. Despite an early loss to LSU in a close 36-33 battle on Sept. 14, the school rebounded with a 50-7 win against Akron in its last game. The Gamecocks will now be looking to keep that energy going against an Ole Miss team that has also had a strong start to the season.
Ole Miss opened its season with some big offensive performances, but the Rebels' recent 20-17 loss to Kentucky in their SEC opener on Sept. 28 leaves them hungry to get back on track. Meanwhile, South Carolina has already defeated Kentucky on the road this season on Sept. 7.
Jaquavious Dodd's senior season performance
The Eastside Eagles are 3-1, and Jaquavious Dodd is a major reason behind this winning streak. Through four games of the season, he recorded 27 tackles (15 solo and 12 assisted), 11 tackles for losses, six quarterback hurries, three pass defenses and one fumble recovery. He is also leading the school with five sacks.
Dodd is coming off a junior season where he recorded 53 tackles, including 24 tackles for losses and 13 sacks. He is ranked by On3 Industry Rankings as the No. 263 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 27 edge rusher in the 2025 class and the No. 4 recruit in South Carolina.
The Eagles are coming off a disappointing 49-6 loss against Spartanburg on Sept. 20 and are going to face Gaffney this Friday. Ahead of the South Carolina gameday visit, Jaquavious Dodd will expect to show another incredible performance to bounce back from the loss.
