Four-star OT Adam Guthrie confirms receiving offer from Ryan Day's Ohio State to the Class of 2026

Four-star offensive tackle Adam Guthrie is one of the most promising prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. He attends Miami Trace High School in Washington Court House, Ohio.

The junior has received nearly 40 offers from college programs, kicking off this month with a scholarship from the Georgia Bulldogs. The latest school to enter the race for his commitment is Ryan Day's Ohio State. Day and Buckeyes offensive line coach Justin Frye extended the scholarship to him on Saturday.

The 6-foot-7, 285-pound prospect shared the news in X, writing:

"Blessed to say I have been offered another D1 scholarship offer from The Ohio State University after a great conversation with @ryandaytime, @CoachJFrye and @DJRSwework. Go Bucks!"

This opportunity followed a gameday visit to Ohio State this past weekend, where Adam Guthrie witnessed the No. 3 Buckeyes dominate Iowa with a 35-7 victory. The Buckeyes offensive line played a crucial role in this win, allowing the defense to shine by holding Iowa to just 226 total yards.

Iowa will host Washington, and Ohio State will travel to Oregon next Saturday.

Adam Guthrie opens up about the Ohio State offer

Ohio State is focused on securing homegrown talent to bolster its future offensive line. As with Adam Guthrie's scholarship, the Buckeyes have offered all four blue-chip offensive linemen in Ohio in 2026, including Will Conroy, Max Riley and Sam Greer.

Guthrie's path to an Ohio State scholarship seemed destined after he made huge strides early in his junior season. Through six games, he has amassed 10 tackles, including two tackles for loss and one sack, per MaxPreps.

“They said after camp (back in June) that they wanted to see five games of junior year film,” Guthrie told Buckeye Huddle. “Once I got it out, they texted me and said they had seen all they needed answered from those games. But I told them the work isn’t done.”

Guthrie has offers from multiple programs, including Florida State, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Penn State, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Texas A&M, Purdue, Oregon, Florida and Miami, among others. But getting an offer from the in-state Buckeyes is like a dream to all Ohio athletes like him.

“It’s pretty cool because not everyone is able to say that they got offered by Ohio State, especially in state guys,” Guthrie said. “So I’ll be able to tell my future kids and grandkids that is something I was able to accomplish.”

Adam Guthrie has yet to set a firm timeline for his decision, but he has hinted to finalize his choice in the spring or summer of next year.
