Four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy, from Tupelo High School in Mississippi, has already earned attention from several Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC programs. He has listed his top 12 programs, featuring Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, LSU, Penn State, Kentucky, Louisville, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Minnesota, Mississippi State and Oregon.

After a week of him revealing his top-12 schools, Memphis entered the race by extending an offer to McCoy for its 2026 class. On Tuesday, the 6-foot-6, 245-pound DL shared the news on X, writing:

"Blessed to receive an offer from University of Memphis 🔵⚪️ @TupFB @MemphisFB @coach_nowinsky @ThardiN1235 @ChadSimmons_ @CaliPowerATHs @Coachbkilgore."

JaReylan McCoy is the No. 4 prospect in Mississippi, the No. 4 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 57 prospect in the 2026 class, according to On3. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 12 defensive lineman, the No. 6 prospect in Mississippi and the No. 132 overall prospect nationally.

The Tigers' 2026 class currently doesn’t have commitment from any prospects.

Which program can earn JaReylan McCoy's pledge?

Ole Miss offered JaReylan McCoy on April 29, 2022, and last year, he was already labeled as Rebels defensive coordinator Pete Golding‘s guy for the 2026 class. The momentum hasn’t changed, as till now the Rebels lead the way with a 66.8% chance of securing McCoy's pledge, according to On3 Recruiting Machine.

McCoy visited the campus on Jan. 29 and March 25 of last year, and each time, he came away impressed.

“You can tell it’s a school with a great offense,” McCoy told On3. “The times that I have been there, they’ve shown love just like any other school.”

Meanwhile, LSU defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey also identified McCoy's potential early, extending an offer while McCoy was still in eighth grade. This early recognition and relationship have kept LSU in the mix, despite its current 10.5% chance of landing him.

“I have known Coach Lindsey a while,” McCoy said. “I think he found me by watching my film. He had gotten with my coach at Tupelo, then they went over what I can do and he told him that he wanted to offer me."

During his freshman season, JaReylan McCoy recorded 70 tackles, nine tackles for loss and six sacks. His impressive performance on the field, combined with an incredible 4.89-second 40-yard dash at the Student Sports’ All-22 camp, proves his caliber as a top-tier defensive lineman.
