Four-star WR Donovan Murph reportedly reclassifies to 2025 class

In an interview with On3, Murph, who turned 17 on Tuesday, opened up about his move, saying:
“This has always been in my mind. Malachi Toney did it this year. Ryan Williams did it last year. I knew I had the opportunity and the ability to do it, so I put the work in and will graduate next spring.”
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect received offers from multiple big programs, including South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, Colorado, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Auburn, Oregon and Ohio State.
Donovan Murph is ranked by the On3 Industry Ranking as the No. 345 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 55 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 5 recruit in South Carolina.
Donovan Murph opens up about his recruitment goals
Donovan Murph is now a capable senior and has some plans ahead of his commitment.
"I am going to take official visits and stuff these next couple of weeks and have a decision soon after that," Murph said (via 247Sports).
Specific dates and destinations for these visits remain undecided, but Murph is strategically narrowing down his options to ensure he makes the best choice for his future.
“Some schools knew about me reclassifying, so I want to see who really wants me as a 2025 recruit," Murph told On3. "I will learn soon the schools that stay with me really believe in my talent.”
As an in-state prospect, Murph has caught the attention of South Carolina. He has made multiple visits to the Gamecocks over the past month, which reinforced his status as a prime target for the program. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the school a 53.6% chance of landing his commitment to its 2025 class, which ranks No. 32 in the nation with 19 committed players.
Clemson also figures prominently in Murph's recruitment, and he was the first wide receiver in the 2026 class to receive an offer from the Tigers. His recent visit to Death Valley during the NC State game on Sept. 21 included a special pre-game meeting with coach Dabo Swinney.
Clemson holds an 8.5% chance of landing Murph, with its 2025 class ranking No. 15 nationally and featuring 13 committed players.
