Jadyn Hudson Hudson speaks highly about HC Deshaun Foster

“I like who he is” - New UCLA commit Jadyn Hudson speaks highly about HC DeShaun Foster

Pittsburg High safety Jadyn Hudson committed to the UCLA Bruins football, selecting the Westwood program over other prominent schools such as Tennessee, Ohio State and USC. Hudson, a consensus four-star prospect, emphasized the pivotal role that UCLA’s head coach, DeShaun Foster, played in his decision.

Hudson praised Foster and his coaching staff for their enhanced recruiting efforts and the positive impressions made during his visits:

“Coach Foster is changing things. He is already making a big difference at UCLA. He cares about his players. Coach Foster came from a military background, so he is all about discipline and teaching."

Expressing his admiration for Foster, Hudson added:

“I like who he is and he is going to turn UCLA around. The players love him. He is a great coach, he is down to earth and he is so easy to talk to. Coach Foster made a big difference with me. I know I will get the development I need on and off the field with him there.”

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 175 pounds, Jadyn Hudson had a stellar junior season in 2023, accumulating 53 total tackles, six interceptions, four pass deflections and a fumble recovery.

Despite being given offers by the previous UCLA coaching staff, Hudson did not visit when Chip Kelly was the head coach. However, since DeShaun Foster took the helm, Hudson has visited twice and has been energized by the new leadership.

Jadyn Hudson chooses UCLA: "I Knew Right Away"

Jadyn Hudson received offers from around 30 schools, but after his visit to UCLA on June 1, he knew Westwood was the place for him. Initially, Hudson had planned visits to both UCLA and USC, but his UCLA experience made the USC trip unnecessary.

“During my official visit to UCLA, talking to the coaches, spending time with the players, and being around everyone, I knew that was where I wanted to go,” Hudson toldnOn3.

UCLA defensive backs coach Brian Norwood, who has maintained a strong relationship with Hudson since Chip Kelly’s tenure, will have the privilege of coaching the four-star athlete.

"Coach Norwood and I have a great relationship. He was recruiting me when Chip was there, so we've known each other for a while. He has recruited me hard and is always checking in on me and my family," Hudson said.
"I like coach Norwood a lot. We can talk about anything. On the field, I know he will help me develop. He loves God, he is genuine, and I love our relationship."

Jadyn Hudson chose the Bruins over reported offers from powerhouse programs like Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, LSU and USC.
