"I'm committed to the No. 1 team in the country": Four-star Oregon OT commit Ziyare Addison speaks about his commitment
The Oregon Ducks are enjoying an extraordinary season with an undefeated 7-0 record. This incredible run was highlighted by a thrilling 32-31 win over Ohio State on Oct. 12 at Autzen Stadium. The close victory, with Dan Lanning's program edging out the then-No. 2 Buckeyes, strengthened its claim to the No. 1 spot in national rankings.
Four-star offensive tackle Ziyare Addison was one of those Oregon commits who could hardly contain his excitement about the win.
"If anybody has questions why I committed to Oregon, that's why I committed to Oregon," Addison told Scoop Duck. "I'm committed to the No. 1 team in the country."
Addison plays his prep football at Carrollwood Day High School in Florida, and he chose the Ducks over Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia and UCLA in June. He was scheduled to be in Eugene this weekend when the Ducks host the No. 20 Illinois but rescheduled that trip.
Ziyare Addison is rated by 247Sports as the No. 98 overall player in the nation, the No. 14 offensive tackle in the 2025 class and the No. 13 recruit in Florida. Rivals places him as the No. 71 overall player in the nation, the No. 10 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 16 recruit in the state.
Ziyare Addison reaffirms his commitment to Oregon
Just like other top committed players, Ziyare Addison is hearing from schools like Miami, Michigan, Florida and Ohio State, but he is not paying attention to the buzz.
“Hearing and listening are two different things," Addison told On3. "When you hear something, it goes in and out your ears. When you are listening, you are truly listening, taking things in. With other schools right now, I am hearing, not listening."
Addison talked with Lanning and Oregon offensive line coach A’Lique Terry every day, and he seemed firm in his commitment.
“If you talk to anyone, they know I am locked in with Oregon,” Addison said. “They did an excellent job recruiting me. I feel really confident in my decision.”
Ziyare Addidon's focus is now making the transition to Oregon's 2025 class easier. This class ranks No. 7 in the nation with 16 committed players. It features multiple five-star prospects like Dakorien Moore, Trey McNutt, Dallas Wilson and Brandon Finney.
