“I’m HOME”: 5-star WR Jaime Ffrench pledges commitment to Steve Sarkisian’s Texas

Maliha

Five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida, announced his commitment to Texas on Friday. The 2025 class prospect chose the Steve Sarkisian-coached Longhorns over LSU, Miami and Tennessee.

Ffrench had previously committed to Alabama but de-committed in January after coach Nick Saban announced his retirement. Texas then officially entered the race by extending an offer to the 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect later that month. He made an official visit to Austin in June, and the Longhorns quickly became the frontrunners for his commitment.

After revealing his decision, Ffrench took to X to express his excitement, writing:

"I’m HOME #HookEm 🤘🏾."

Defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski and safeties coach Blake Gideon have been praised for their success in recruiting top-tier talents. But it was coach Sarkisian's offensive vision that has truly captured the attention of Ffrench.

“Texas is a legendary program and we are building a legendary team under coach Sark," Ffrench told On3. "It is a great program and coach Sark is doing big things. Texas will win a national championship under coach Sark.”

Jaime Ffrench said his recruitment was officially closed, and he plans to enroll at Texas in January. His older brother Maurice played for Pittsburgh and had stints in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs as well as the Los Angeles Chargers.

What does Jaime Ffrench bring to Texas?

Jaime Ffrench Jr. becomes the third five-star prospect to commit to Texas' 2025 class in August alone, joining fellow wide receiver Kaliq Lockett and safety Jonah Williams. He is the third-highest-rated prospect in the Longhorns' class behind Williams and Lockett. The program has 19 committed players, which ranks No. 6 in the nation and No. 5 in the Southeastern Conference.

With Ffrench's commitment, wide receivers coach Chris Jackson and Sarkisian have secured a five-star wide receiver. He recorded four passes for 116 yards to win versus Creekside High School to open this season.

His selection to the Times-Union's Super 11 for the Jacksonville area's top recruits and his placement at No. 4 on the USA TODAY Florida Network Top 100 also prove him one of the premier talents in the country.

Jaime Ffrench also excels as a member of the track team for Mandarin High School. He ranks as the No. 18 player nationally, the No. 3 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 3 player in Florida, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
