Four-star safety Ladarian Clardy is one of the highest-rated prospects in Ole Miss' 2025 recruiting class, ranking No. 22 in the nation. He gave his pledge to the Rebels on Sept. 21, but within less than a month, he has been embroiled in a flip rumor.
LSU offered Clardy on Sept. 15, one week before his commitment to Ole Miss. On Tuesday, he retweeted that old offer post, which left everyone wondering if he is considering making a flip to Brian Kelly's program.
LSU fans were quick to react to this discussion.
"Idk if we want someone willingly committing to a crap program like Ole Miss. Maybe he grew up not watching football," a fan wrote.
"You should’ve been picked LSU," another wrote.
Ladarian Clardy’s original commitment to Ole Miss was driven by his dream of playing in the Southeastern Conference. He cited the strength of SEC teams and competition as a key factor in his decision.
However, LSU’s success in the conference may be influencing him to reconsider. While Ole Miss currently holds a 1-2 record in the SEC, LSU remains undefeated. Fans are urging him to flip to the Tigers before it's too late.

Ole Miss has 17 committed players in its 2025 class. It features three other safety prospects besides Ladarian Clardy: four-star prospects Cortez Thomas and Keon Young, as well as three-star Major Preston.

What Ladarian Clardy's flip will mean to LSU?
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Ladarian Clardy is the No. 226 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 18 safety prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle and the No. 32 player in the state of Florida. He possesses the potential to outperform LSU's currently committed safeties, both of whom are ranked lower than him.
As a junior at Escambia High School in Myrtle Grove, Florida, the safety accumulated 57 tackles, eight pass breakups and four interceptions last season. This year, he has continued to impress by racking up 27 tackles (23 solo), one interception, one pass defense and a fumble recovery through five games, according to MaxPreps.
Andrew Ivins of 247Sports describes Clardy as an aggressive safety with excellent range and ball skills. His ability to read the field and create turnovers has made him a standout prospect in the nation.
Ladarian Clardy also excels in track and field. As a sophomore, he set a school record in the long jump and finished second at the FHSAA state meet.
