Cornerback Zyan Gibson has already received offers from multiple programs, including Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M, among others. The Michigan Wolverines joined the ranks last month, offering the four-star prospect from Gadsden, Alabama, for their 2026 recruitment class.

Getting an offer from the defending champion program was a monumental moment for Gibson. In an interview with On3, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound CB expressed his excitement, saying:

“I was happy to get that offer. It meant a lot. I’m looking more into them and want to learn about them. I know they are a great program, and they’ve been winning. It was a blessing to get that offer.”

The recruitment process was facilitated by Michigan's new secondary coach, LaMar Morgan, whom Gibson found a "chill guy."

“I enjoyed talking to him," Gibson said. "He said he watched my film and that he wanted to give me an offer. It was a good conversation. We just have to keep talking.”

The prospect also lauded the Michigan defense that smashed Alabama's offense last season.

“They have a great defense," Gibson said. "I was very impressed with the defense. I was also impressed that they beat Alabama. That was a great win. It shows what type of program they have.”

Sherrone Moore-coached Michigan has quarterback Brady Hart committed to the 2026 class, which ranks No. 20 overall in the 247Sports composite ranking.

Which programs are in the mix for Zyan Gibson's pledge?

While several four-star prospects have already started giving their commitments to college programs, Zyan Gibson is not rushed in the process.

“The recruiting process has been a little stressful,” Gibson told On3. "I’m just trying to get to as many schools as possible and see everything.”

Auburn currently leads the pack in securing Gibson’s commitment, boasting a 39.9% chance, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Following closely behind are Alabama with an 18.3% chance, Georgia with 15.7% and Ole Miss with 13.1%.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Gibson is the No. 69 prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 6 cornerback and the No. 4 recruit in Alabama. 247Sports places him as the No. 44 prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 3 cornerback and the No. 4 prospect in the state.

Zyan Gibson excels in basketball and track as well, posting 10.85 seconds in the 100 meters and 22.19 seconds in the 200 meters in his sophomore season.
