"IU stealing star QB recruits from USC now lol": Fans react to five-star Trojans QB commit Julian Lewis' upcoming visit
Five-star USC quarterback commit Julian Lewis continues sparking flip rumors by visiting other programs. He is scheduled to visit Indiana this Saturday as the Hoosiers host Michigan, according to Steve Wiltfong of On3.
Lewis also made a trip to Indiana for an official recruiting visit in May. However, Indiana’s 9-0 record and No. 8 ranking in the AP Top 25 Poll have intensified rumors that the Hoosiers might sway him from Lincoln Riley's program.
The prospect of Indiana landing such a high-caliber quarterback like Lewis has excited fans, who are eager to see the Hoosiers elevate their recruiting profile.
"julian lewis is gonna be a hoosier," a fan wrote.
"That would be a wild flip for Indiana. USC is garbage anyways," one wrote.
"IU stealing star QB recruits from USC now lol," one wrote.
"Id love to see Indiana all of a sudden start getting all these 4 and 5 stars out of nowhere. And then become a relevant program for the next few years. That would be something. It make the B1G much more interesting than just Michigan, Penn State, OSU and an occasional Wisconsin," one wrote.
Let's look at more reactions to this discussion.
However, Colorado is also heavily pursuing Julian Lewis, and he, along with fellow USC commit Carde Smith, attended the Buffaloes' 34-23 victory over Cincinnati on Oct. 26. This was Lewis’ first time visiting another campus since committing to USC last year, and it came as Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes, currently ranked No. 21 with a 6-2 record, are on the uptick.
Colorado is reportedly viewing Lewis as a potential replacement for current starting quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who is expected to enter the NFL draft next year.
"Colorado lock," one wrote.
"He just testing the waters before he flip to Colorado," one wrote.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Colorado a 17.4% chance of flipping Julian Lewis from USC. With the early signing period beginning Dec. 4 and the final signing date on Feb. 5, he still has time to decide between staying loyal to the Trojans or flipping to these two schools.
Insider reveals Julian Lewis' current state with USC
Lincoln Riley has built a reputation for developing elite quarterbacks, with names like Baker Mayfield, Jalen Hurts, Kyler Murray, Spencer Rattler and most recently Caleb Williams, who went first overall in the 2024 NFL draft. However, the current season has been a struggle for the Trojans, as they sit with a 2-5 record in Big Ten play.
USC faces a tough task in replacing Caleb Williams, as Miller Moss and Jayden Maiava were tapped to step up, but neither has shown the same dynamic ability that fans had come to expect. Julian Lewis has been expected to become the next big quarterback at USC. However, his potential flip to other programs is in the discussion, as revealed by a USC insider.
"I'm getting text messages saying there are recruits getting ready to jump ship. I'm looking at Carde Smith's IG. I got a text from a family member of QB Juju Lewis saying it's not looking good," the insider said.
USC's 2025 class has already witnessed five decommitments, and three of them were five-star prospects. Losing Julian Lewis' commitment will be another major blow for this cycle.
