"JuJu stats better than everybody on this list": CFB fans react to Colorado QB Julian Lewis' ranking among top quarterbacks of the 2025 class
The latest On3 rankings for 2025 recruiting class quarterbacks have sparked debates among college football fans, particularly regarding Julian Lewis. Ranked sixth by On3, Lewis trails top prospects like Bryce Underwood and Keelon Russell. Many fans and analysts believe his ranking undervalues his talent and potential.
The four-star quarterback from Carrollton, Georgia, is in the midst of an extraordinary 14-0 season, boasting a 76% pass completion rate for 3,465 yards and 46 touchdowns.
These numbers have fueled discussions about whether Lewis deserves a higher ranking, particularly as 247Sports lists him as the No. 37 overall player in the Class of 2025.
“JuJu (Julian Lewis) stats better than everybody on this list by far,” one fan said.
Another commented,
“Julian went down after signing with Prime smh.”
Here is how other fans expressed their reactions:
"It’s funny how JuJu reclassified in January but On3 didn’t drop his rating until after he took his official visit to Colorado in the summer," a fan wrote.
"How come that 5 star went down after he committed to Oregon," another said.
"What a broke list. Tavien is #1 on several and JuJu is a 5-star 😂," a fan said.
"2 lsu qbs not lsu qbs," another said.
His journey has been eventful. Initially committed to USC in August 2023 as part of the 2026 class, he reclassified to 2025 last winter. After over a year with the Trojans, he decommitted on Nov. 17 and pledged to Colorado just four days later during the early signing period.
Julian Lewis lauded for college readiness and record-breaking high school career
CFB analyst Charles Power commended Julian Lewis for his readiness to transition to the collegiate level, emphasizing the quarterback's extensive experience and poise.
"Julian Lewis is probably as ready to play in college as he's going to be," Power said (via On3). "I think what he's done at Carrollton in Georgia can stand alone. He doesn't need to. He's not gonna. I'm not sure that we'll see him have the benefit of playing a senior year like we do a normal quarterback."
Throughout his high school career, Julian Lewis compiled staggering numbers: 10,484 yards, 140 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. Power further highlighted Lewis' exceptional consistency, saying,
"Julian Lewis is a guy who has been hyperproductive. He's basically played almost a full high school career in three seasons at Carrollton, Georgia. I mean, if he stopped right now, he would have kind of like atop 10 type of record season in terms of his production in the state of Georgia's history."
In his final season, Lewis 75.8% of his passes for 3,272 yards and 44 touchdowns.
