Alabama has just begun preseason camp for the 2024 season and got a boost in its 2027 class with edge rusher Jabarrius Garror, from Mobile, Alabama. Garror has announced that he is committed to the program's 2027 class.

The journey to his commitment began on March 7, when Kalen DeBoer's program extended an offer to Garror, as he told Touchdown Alabama:

"It feels like a dream come true."

The prospect's long-standing devotion to Alabama was no secret, with his grandmother being a big fan of the program as well. His high school coach, Curtis Maye, also discussed his affinity for the Crimson Tide (via On3):

“That’s the one he was waiting on: Alabama. The kid has been a lifelong Alabama fan. Alabama was the school he was waiting on. Nothing else matters but Alabama.”

Jabarrius Garror has visited Alabama's campus multiple times and his most recent visit was for the Cold Summer Cookout. The event was held on Sunday, which preceded his official commitment on Thursday.

“My main highlights were seeing how their edge rushers play, and learning their linebackers’ techniques and how they get off the ball,” Garror said ( via BOL). “Overall, they all looked good. They fixed some mistakes in the second- and third-strings. They fixed some mistakes, and they looked good.”

Garror also expressed high regard for outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson.

“He’s a great person,” Garror said. “I feel like he does a great job with his players. I feel like he’s a great coach. The way he’s going about the mistakes they’re making… he’s making sure they’re getting what they need to fix their mistakes and being a great coach.”

Garror has also been a teammate with Alabama's offensive lineman target Micah DeBose.

Jabarrius Garror's decision to join Alabama came after considering over 20 offers from various prestigious programs, including Auburn, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee and LSU.

What does Jabarrius Garror's commitment mean for Alabama?

Listed at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, Jabarrius Garror brings a blend of skill and athleticism to Alabama. Garror will begin his sophomore season at Vigor High School next month after finishing last season with 36 tackles, eight sacks and seven tackles for a loss.

These stats have put him on the radar of many, even though major recruiting channels like On3, 247 Sports, and Rivals have yet to rate him.

Being an early commit means that Garror will have ample opportunity to develop under the guidance of Alabama's renowned coaching staff. His commitment comes just one day after the Crimson Tide landed the commitment of Ba'Roc Willis to the 2027 class. Both prospects are edge rushers and in-state commitments for Alabama, with Garror Willis coming out of Moody (Moody HS).
