Four-star wide receiver Xavier McDonald has become one of the most promising prospects in the 2026 class and has received more than one dozen offers so far. The standout from Morton High School in Mississippi added his latest scholarship from Kalen DeBoer's Alabama on Sunday.

McDonald posted the news on X, tagging DeBoer and writing:

"🙏🏾 Thankful to receive an offer from @AlabamaFTBL @KalenDeBoer 🔴⚪️ @M3SPORTS_ @Dedric_McDonald @zjones_mhs @shayhodge3 @MacCorleone74 @MarshallLev_@SWiltfong_ @samspiegs @ChadSimmons_ @Zach_Berry @TomLuginbill @CraigHaubert."

McDonald is rated by On3 as the No. 116 overall recruit, the No. 15 wide receiver and the No. 2 player out of Mississippi in the 2026 class. 247Sports places him as the No. 76 overall recruit, the No. 11 wide receiver in the cycle and the No. 3 player in the state.

Xavier McDonald's potential commitment will be a big boost to Alabama's 2026 class, which features one commitment: four-star cornerback Dorian Barney. The Crimson Tide has offered multiple wide receivers for this cycle, including four-star prospects like Devin Carter, Cederian Morgan, Jabari Brady, Naeem Burroughs, Tyreek King and CJ Sadler.

Ole Miss leads the race for Xavier McDonald's commitment

Xavier McDonald is taking his time with his college decision, but Ole Miss leads in his recruitment with a 38.5% chance of securing his commitment. His interest in Ole Miss intensified after he attended the Rebels' 52-13 victory over Georgia Southern at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium last month.

Accompanied by his brother and fellow four-star prospect, Dolph McDonald, Xavier got an up-close look at both the school's explosive offense and defensive prowess.

"The offense, they were awesome," Xavier McDonald told Inside the Rebels. "The defense was three-and-out, so they were great to watch."

Ole Miss is working to build a competitive roster for its 2026 class but has yet to land a commitment. McDonald is just one of several high-profile prospects the Rebels hope to sign.

Four-star wide receiver Tristen Keys is also high on the Rebels' list, with a 50% chance of committing to the school., while Vance Spafford, another four-star recruit, shows a 35% chance of pledging to the program. Mississippi native and four-star wide receiver O’Mari Johnson leans toward Ole Miss with a 57% chance of committing.

Aside from these four-star recruits, Ole Miss is favored to land three-star wide receivers like Jameson Powell and Jase Mathews, both with a 98% likelihood of committing. Another three-star Davion Peters has a 65% chance of joining the team.
