Kirby Smart's Georgia emerges as an unlikely contender for Colorado flip target Julian Lewis as he schedules an unofficial visit
Julian Lewis, a four-star quarterback from Carrollton High School, Georgia, has been committed to the USC Trojans since August last year. However, multiple teams are making a last push to flip the 6-foot-0 athlete, including the Colorado Buffaloes. The Buffs are the favorites to do so, but another team has sprung up in the pursuit of the star QB.
Kirby Smart's Georgia has emerged as a surprise suitor for the four-star quarterback. According to ESPN analyst Pete Thamel, Lewis will be in Athens for the Bulldogs' game against the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday.
"Julian Lewis, ESPN's No. 2 overall recruit in 2025, is set to unofficially visit Georgia on Saturday for the Tennessee game, per a source," Thamel wrote on his X account. "He’s committed to USC and visited Colorado last month. On3 first reported the UGA visit."
Lewis verbally committed to the Trojans last year, but is now a major flip target for some of the best CFB programs in the country.
Although the Deion Sanders-led program is the favorite to flip the quarterback, Georgia can make things interesting by playing the perfect hosts this weekend.
Colorado is still the leading contender to flip Julian Lewis
The Colorado Buffaloes are currently leading the race to flip the commitment of four-star prospect Julian Lewis from the USC Trojans. Lewis visited Colorado's campus in Boulder during their game against Cincinnati in October. According to On3, the Buffs have an 80.8% chance of flipping the talented quarterback.
Lewis is looking to make an immediate impact and Colorado offers the best chance for him to do so. The Buffaloes' starting quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, won't be in Boulder next year and that opens the door for Lewis to start immediately for Deion Sanders and company.
He spoke about the program and its head coach in an interview with 247Sports earlier this year.
"Colorado has a lot of energy," Julian Lewis said, as per 247Sports. "Coach Prime is super positive and motivating. Talking to coach [Pat] Shurmur and Shedeur [Sanders], they want me to make the best decision for me, but made it clear that I have the opportunity to play early."
Lewis is currently ranked as the 36th-best overall prospect in the country and is the seventh-best quarterback in the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is also the fifth-best overall prospect from the state of Georgia.
