Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss joins Auburn in recruiting trail for Houston QB commit Keisean Henderson
Keisean Henderson, a four-star quarterback from Houston, Texas is still receiving offers from some of the best CFB programs in the country, despite his commitment to the Houston Cougars. The 6-3 athlete chose the Cougars in May last year, but some schools are still in pursuit of the talented quarterback, including Ole Miss, the latest program to extend an offer to Henderson.
The Rebels offered Henderson on Thursday afternoon. The quarterback shared the news on X. Ole Miss joined the Auburn Tigers in pursuit of the quarterback. Hugh Freeze and company extended their offer to Henderson after his MVP performance in the Navy All-American Bowl.
Despite Henderson's commitment to the Cougars, he's open to offers from other programs, including the likes of SMU, Miami, Oregon and Florida State. He said that these teams are in contention to sign him and are in constant touch with him.
Keisean Henderson is ranked No.18 in the country and is the fifth-best quarterback in the Class of 2026, as per On3. He's also the second-best overall recruit from the state of Texas. According to MaxPreps, the four-star quarterback had 1,574 yards, 21 touchdowns and three interceptions during his sophomore year.
Keisean Henderson was named the Navy All-American Bowl MVP
The Navy All-American Bowl took place on Saturday. It featured some of the best high school football players in the country as they battled it out in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Keisean Henderson's West came out on top against the East, 13-7 and the four-star quarterback took home the MVP honors.
Henderson's highlight play came in the first half after he linked up with Jalen Cooper for a 91-yard touchdown. He said about the game and winning the MVP award (as per NBC Sports):.
"It's a blessing just to be named as a MVP of a game that I came in one of the last quarterbacks and one of the youngest guys out here. So just being a junior and just coming out here playing with seniors and guys that's going to leave in a couple of days to go pack up their rooms and stuff like that."
Henderson announced his commitment to the Houston Cougars in May last year. Houston's Class of 2026 is ranked No.31 in the country, as per 247Sports. They have landed three commitments so far and are poised to add more.
