Luke Fickell's Wisconsin Badgers offer scholarship to 2026 class DL Jerimy Finch Jr.
Three-star defensive lineman Jerimy Finch Jr., from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, is gradually emerging as one of the most promising prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. He has already received offers from college programs like Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Indiana, Louisville, Penn State, Kansas and Illinois, among others.
This past Sunday, coach Luke Fickell's Wisconsin Badgers joined the growing list of suitors by extending an offer to Finch. The prospect shared the news on X, writing:
"After a great conversation with @Coach_Mitch_ I've recieved an offer to play for @BadgerFootball @mikekirschner1 @cdc372 @Coachpope40 @CoachCook73 @DBROWN57_ @stutsie06 @cspann28 @SWiltfong_ @TomLoy247 @AllenTrieu @LauerFBU @ErikRichardsUSA @GregSmithRivals @KyleNeddenriep."
Wisconsin has quarterback Jarin Mock committed to its 2026 recruiting class. If Finch commits to the program, he will be the first pledge on the defensive side of the class.
Last season, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect recorded 41 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, three sacks and one field goal block.
Finch is the son of former Florida and Indiana safety Jerimy Finch, who was the top-ranked prospect in Indiana's 2007 recruiting class.
Notre Dame is the frontrunner to secure Jerimy Finch Jr.'s commitment
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Notre Dame leads the race with a 94.7% chance of earning Jerimy Finch Jr.'s commitment. The interest between him and the program began during the school's Pot of Gold Day.
Finch was accompanied on his visits by a few of his high school coaches, and following his first visit to South Bend, he was full of praise for what the program had to offer.
“The opportunities that Notre Dame can offer are different from a normal school,” Finch told Blue & Gold. “We did a deep dive on the (meaning) of the degree.”
Finch was hosted by Notre Dame's director of recruiting, Dre Brown, and also had the chance to meet with defensive line coach Al Washington and coach Marcus Freeman. The prospect came away with a positive impression of Freeman, saying:
“(Freeman’s) a real man,” Finch said. “What he showed me today was that he was real genuine. There is no fakeness about him.”
Finch has yet to announce a commitment date or a list of his top schools, but he made it clear that the Fighting Irish are a strong contender.
“They are definitely a high pick for me at the moment," Finch continued. "They are close to home and have no real issues there.”
Jerimy Finch Jr. is the No. 26 defensive lineman in the 2026 class and the No. 1 prospect in Indianapolis, according to On3. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 39 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 1 prospect in the state.
