Magic Johnson's nephew and LSU commit Mazi Mosely transfers to Prolific Prep, joining 5-star prospect Darryn Peterson.
Mazi Mosley, a star high school basketball player and the nephew of NBA legend Magic Johnson, has made a significant move in his basketball journey. The LSU commit has transferred to Prolific Prep, one of the nation's premier programs, where he will now team with 6-foot-5, five-star prospect Darryn Peterson, the third-ranked player in the 2025 class.
On Saturday, Mosley's Instagram page (@Mazznem) shared the news, which was reportedly confirmed by a Prolific Prep spokesperson.
Standing at 6-5, Mazi Mosley is ranked 75th in ESPN's 2025 recruiting database. The four-star shooting guard initially made waves at St. Francis High School in California before transferring to Montverde Academy in Florida earlier this year. His switch to prolific Prep means he is leaving Montverde after only spending about five months there.
Mazi Moseley's future with Prolific Prep
A duo of Mazi Moseley and Darryn Peterson, one of the top-rated high school basketball players and a Kansas signee, will undoubtedly elevate Prolific Prep's competitive edge.
Peterson is known for his scoring versatility and playmaking ability, while Mosley is celebrated for his dynamic offensive game, defensive tenacity and ability to make plays under pressure. The duo's presence further cements Prolific Prep's position as a powerhouse.
Mazi Mosley's next big chapter
In September, Mazi Mosley committed to LSU, selecting the Tigers over offers from powerhouse programs like Kansas, Michigan and Arizona State.
"I enjoyed the culture they have there," Mosley said, via 247Sports. "I also like what Coach (Matt) McMahon has to offer in terms of developing guards and his attention to detail."
Mosley's commitment bolsters LSU's 2025 recruiting class, adding to a growing list of talented prospects under McMahon.
