Matt Rhule's Nebraska offers scholarship to four-star Texas A&M EDGE commit to the Class of 2026
Four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter remains a top prospect in the 2026 class for his athleticism as a 4i-defensive lineman. Despite being committed to Texas A&M, Carter's recruitment remains active, as Matt Rhule's Nebraska extended an offer to him on Sunday.
Carter shared the news on X, tagging Rhule and Nebraska senior football assistant Jamar Mozee.
"I am blessed to receive an 🅾️ffer from The University of Nebraska #gohuskers 🌽 @MozeeJ43,@HuskerFootball, @CoachMattRhule @CoachJTW @TrenchAcademy @1coachTLindley @Coach_Ken_Quinn @DCAthletics1 @PhenomElite @brandofachamp @ChadSimmons_ @JeremyO_Johnson."
Carter ranks as the top edge rusher in the 2026 class, the No. 10 player in the country and the No. 2 recruit in Georgia, per Rivals.
Nebraska became the first school to make a move on Carter since his commitment to Texas A&M just a week prior. The decision to join the Aggies’ 2026 class came on Oct. 27, right after Texas A&M’s impressive 38-23 comeback victory over LSU.
Carter’s decision closely followed that of his high school teammate and fellow four-star recruit, junior wide receiver Aaron Gregory, who also committed to Texas A&M. The Aggies this class also earned a commitment from four-star tight end Xavier Tiller on Monday and have risen from No. 7 to No. 1 spot in the Southeastern Conference with eight committed players.
Nebraska’s offer may represent a serious bid for Carter’s talent, but flipping him from Texas A&M will be challenging. The Aggies have solid momentum in their recruiting efforts and a promising season, standing at 7-2 compared to Nebraska’s 5-4.
Nebraska 2026 class recruitment update
Nebraska's 2026 class got its first commitment nearly two months ago, when three-star quarterback Dayton Raiola, the younger brother of Huskers freshman player Dylan Raiola, gave his pledge. Joining him recently is three-star wide receiver Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte, who became the second player in this recruiting cycle to commit to the Huskers last month.
Nebraska has been active in reaching out to top talent by extending offers to multiple prospects in the 2026 class. The program is also favorites to secure commitment from several players like quarterback Case Vanden Bosch, running back DeZephen Walker and wide receiver Kohen Brown, among others.
On the defensive side, Nebraska is targeting cornerback CJ Bronaugh, safety Keenan Harris, linebacker Johnmichael Fountain and tight end Hunter Higgins, among others.
