Michigan WR commit Andrew Marsh wants to pair with five-star LSU commit Bryce Underwood to "win a championship"

The recruiting battle for five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood is intensifying as he is the prized recruit of LSU's 2026 recruiting class. However, Michigan is ramping up its efforts to flip him, with even Wolverines players, including four-star wide receiver commit Andrew Marsh, joining the recruiting effort to bring Underwood to Ann Arbor.

Speaking with On3, Marsh openly shared his enthusiasm for teaming up with Underwood, saying:

"He’s someone I would love to play with and go win a championship with."

LSU is far from conceding, however. Offensive coordinator Joe Sloan traveled on Friday to visit Underwood during Belleville’s dominant 68-0 win over Pioneer. Underwood also stayed afterward to sign LSU helmets.

Despite LSU's strong recruitment of Underwood, the following day he visited Michigan for the Wolverines' game against Oregon. But the Wolverines lost the game 38-17 and fell to 5-4, which will give him a lot to think about his recruitment journey.

However, keeping aside Michigan's performance this season under first-year coach Sherrone Moore, the Wolverines’ 2025 recruiting class is gaining momentum. Their ranking recently jumped from No. 16 to No. 10 following back-to-back commitments from four-star defensive lineman Benny Patterson and four-star cornerback Shamari Earls.

The class already includes top talents like five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola and Marsh, who even took the extra step of traveling to connect with Underwood in person on Friday.

What does Elijah Dotson's potential flip rumor to Michigan mean for Bryce Underwood?

On Saturday, Michigan insider EJ Holland logged an expert prediction for Michigan to flip Pittsburgh's four-star athlete commit Elijah Dotson. Interestingly, Bryce Underwood is a high school teammate of Dotson. If Dotson decides to switch his commitment to Michigan, it would boost the Wolverines' chances of also landing Underwood.

Even Underwood was spotted at Michigan's game alongside fellow LSU commit Derek Meadows. Meadows, who has already made an official visit to Michigan in May, could boost Michigan's position.

If Meadows leans towards the Wolverines, it will create more pressure on LSU to retain Underwood, especially given the recent trend of recruits flipping commitments.

The Wolverines are also reportedly not afraid of throwing cash in a NIL deal for Bryce Underwood, so it will be interesting how his recruitment journey unfolds.
