Mikaylah Williams, a 6-foot-1 guard from Bossier City, Louisiana, emerged as a standout player and one of the most decorated prep athletes in state history while at Parkway High School. Now a rising star with the LSU Tigers, Williams continues to demonstrate her elite talent and work ethic on the college stage.
As a junior, Williams averaged 22.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.2 steals per game while helping Parkway to a 33-2 record and the Class 5A state championship. Her performance earned her the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year and Louisiana Miss Basketball.

Mikaylah Williams' senior year proved to be just as impactful. She averaged 17.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 4.2 apg and 2.6 spg, showcasing her versatility and basketball IQ. She helped Parkway win the Non-Select Division I state championship, Parkway's first state championship, earning Most Outstanding Player honors by scoring 34 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in her final game.
She became the all-time leading scorer while winning the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year and Louisiana Miss Basketball for the second time.
Williams also won the Morgan Wootten National Player of the Year and participated in the McDonald's All-American Game and the Nike Hoop Summit, cementing her as one of the best in her class.
She was a consistent contributor to Team USA on the international level, earning multiple gold medals at the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cups, and was named MVP in back-to-back tournaments.
Parkway High School retires Mikaylah Williams’ No. 12 jersey
In a ceremony filled with emotion Parkway High School retired Mikaylah Williams' No. 12 basketball jersey on Sunday after she set a standard of excellence for the school program.
The event was held in Williams' hometown of Bossier City shortly before then-No. 5 LSU defeated Grambling 100-54 as Williams returned home.
At the retirement ceremony, Parkway officials presented Williams with a framed jersey. Williams expressed her gratitude to the school for such support, and LSU coach Kim Mulkey talked about what such achievement means.
