Mike Norvell's FSU adds highly-rated punter to 2025 recruiting class
Mike Norvell's Florida State University added Ethan Post, a highly rated punter from Mayo High School in Minnesota. Standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 235 pounds, Post has earned a five-star rating as a punter and a four-star rating as a kicker at Kohl's Professional Camps. He ranks No. 9 in the 2025 punter class. Post will join FSU as a preferred walk-on.
Post chose the Seminoles over other programs, including Minnesota, Air Force, Cornell and Harvard. Despite these offers, FSU’s reputation and the genuine relationships built with its coaching staff were pivotal factors in his decision.
"Out of everywhere I went, I felt respected the most and wanted the most at the same time,” Post told Post Bulletin. “The only head coach that actually came up and talked to me was the Florida State coach, Mike Norvell. When I go to other schools, like special teams coordinators, those guys would talk to me, but never did a head coach specifically know my name.
"Norvell did and that was really important for me, just knowing that as a specialist, especially, I want to be able to fit in and I just wanted to know that I'd be given the same treatment as everybody else."
Under Mike Norvell FSU won the Atlantic Coast Conference title in 2023.

Florida State’s head coach Mike Norvell expressed enthusiasm about the incoming recruiting class, which has experienced some unexpected twists and flips.
"Definitely excited about this group," Norvell said via Tallahassee Democrat. "It's been a season of challenge, a season of change, it's definitely been a remarkable journey with building relationships, pouring into individuals, and identifying needs of guys that can come and I think make a great impact to the program." "I think there is a lot of guys on this list that will be immediate impact players."
FSU’s early signing day results included 18 new players, with notable four-star flips such as Jayvan Boggs, Tae’shaun Gelsey and Ousmane Kromah.
