No. 1 ranked 2026 prospect from Ohio names Michigan, Ohio State among top destinations
Victor Singleton, a four-star cornerback from the Class of 2026, narrowed his list to five schools on Thursday: Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas A&M. Other programs that extended offers to Singleton include Toledo, Kentucky, Tennessee, Penn State, Nebraska and Ole Miss.
According to On3, Ohio State is leading the race to acquire the talented cornerback, with a 92.5% chance of landing him. The Buckeyes are followed by Michigan (3.9%) and Toledo (1.2%).
The Ohio native is one of the best players from his class as he received All-Ohio honors this season. The Central Catholic High School (Ohio) CB is ranked No. 45 overall and is the third-best cornerback in the 2026 class, per 247Sports. He is also the No. 1 prospect from Ohio.
Ohio State is the cornerback's dream destination, and he was looking forward to an offer from them, which he received in June.

Victor Singleton will now choose between Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas A&M.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are the favorites to land him and the Buckeyes' Class of 2026 is ranked No. 12 overall, per 247Sports. The program has already acquired commitments from four athletes from the class: Chris Henry Jr., Jakob Weatherspoon, Jaeden Ricketts and Corbyn Fordham.
Henry is a four-star receiver who is ranked No.13 overall. Weatherspoon is ranked No. 220 overall and is the 14th-best player at his position. He is also the ninth-best player from Ohio. Ricketts is the No. 81 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 22 prospect from Ohio, per On3.
According to 247Sports, Fordham is the No. 323 overall prospect and No. 15 tight end in the 2026 class.
Acquiring Singleton will give a boost to an already decent-ranked Buckeyes class.
