No. 1 senior prospect Aaliyah Chavez's Lady Raiders visit highlights have hoops fans intrigued: "Is this officially official?"
Aaliyah Chavez, the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2025, has kept the basketball world on its toes for a while. Hoops fans observe her every move with the utmost curiosity and hope. The top recruit has yet to commit to any institution, and fans want the 5-foot-9 point guard to pick their favorite team.
The Lubbock, Texas, native visited the hometown Texas Tech Lady Raiders on Nov. 11. Chavez shared a clip of highlights from her visit via Instagram on Thursday.
The video began with a series of snaps of Chavez's name on different media outlets' pages. A transition leads to a clip of the Monterey High School star closing in on the camera as people on both sides of the red carpet cheer for her with their flashlights on.

The compilation also included some frames with Chavez sitting on a huge chair that looked like a throne. Hoops fans flocked to the comments section with their speculations about her potential destination.
"Is this officially official? My daughter (9) is anxiously waiting to see where you go. She’s your biggest/youngest fan in Tennessee!" a fan wrote.
More jumped into the conversation under the post.
"Praying this will be her choice!! It’s only UP from here! Others will come❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤," a Lady Raiders fan commented.

"Need this to become official 🙏," a hopeful user said.
Despite the clarification, some users started congratulating Aaliyah Chavez for her choice. Some fans addressed the issue so that the star didn't have to.
"It literally says #official and #NOTCOMMITTED," one fan clarified.
"It says NOT committed and yall still asking 😢 Girrrl wherever you go… BALL TF OUT! 🔥👏❤️," another fan chimed in.
Aaliyah Chavez's college commitment status
According to 247Sports, Aaliyah Chavez has narrowed down her finalists to Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA, Texas Tech and South Carolina. She visited Oklahoma and UCLA facilities on Oct. 18 and Oct. 31, respectively.
On3's prediction machine has Oklahoma as the most likely destination for Chavez, with a 37% probability. UCLA is closely behind with a 32.3% chance. Texas Tech, South Carolina and Texas aren't out of contention, either.
